MODERNIZATION OF THE STEERING MODULE AT THE  PITCH PROPELLER ON A TUGBOAT BY THE USE OF A HYDRAULIC NUMERIC A XIS

Scope of project:
The utter replacement of an existing electro-pneumatic control system of a pitch propeller by a hydraulic numeric axis with an analog input command device. The system is controlled by the programmable numeric card HNC 100. The operating system is an analog input unit and a hydraulic actuator with stroke measurement and proportional control block. The possibility of programming operating characteristics allowed for elimination of hull misshapen and a difference in the efficiency of two power transmission lines, ensuring the tugboat stays on course without any need to correct by rudders.
